Notification Center overview

The Notification Center is the UI for creating and managing system notifications. It complements the API endpoints related to notification configuration.

The list of configured notifications appears as an inventory on the Notification Center page. Like other TLS Protect Cloud inventories, click an item's name to see or edit the notification's details. Click the Action button to see what actions you can take on a item. To take an action on one or more items, use the checkboxes to select the items, then click one of the available actions above the list.

For each notification, you can see if it's turned on, and you can turn on or off an individual notification directly in the inventory.

When looking at a notification's details, there are three tabs (or groups) of settings.

  • The Details tab has the notification name, the triggering event, and other information about the notification.
  • The Filters tab controls the rules that define exactly which events or data trigger alerts, allowing you to only get notified about what matters to you.
  • The Delivery Channel tab controls the notification method and the notification targets.

Notification types

In Notification Center, you can create notifications for the following events.

Event Description
Certificate Expiration Sends notifications before a certificate is about to expire. The certificate monitoring service defines the time for each threshold. In Notification Center, you link the notification to a specific threshold.
Certificate Manager Certificate Resource Health This is an event for cert-manager resources and will get triggered when the resource switches to healthy or unhealthy. Learn more
Certificate Manager Issuance Health This is an event for cert-manager issuance and will get triggered when the agent switches to healthy or unhealthy. Learn more
VSatellite Health This is an event for VSatellite and will get triggered when the specific VSatellite switches to healthy or unhealthy. Learn more
